Hey! I’m Amie. Nice to meet you!

I’m a full time photographer living in Raleigh, NC, though I grew up and spent most of my life in Maine. I love New England with all of my heart, but after having lived in NC for just over a year now, I’m really enjoying the milder weather and longer photography season! I went to school at Maine College of Art in Portland ME, and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration. I didn’t discover photography until a few years after I graduated, but my art background definitely led me there! I started out as an office manager and photo editor for a small, local photography business, and it all took off from there!

I primarily photograph Cosplay, and if you’re confused about what that means, here’s a quick explanation: people all over the country (and the world) make or purchase costumes of their favorite characters from movies, books, cartoons, television shows, and sometimes even from their own heads and hire me to photograph them! Cosplayers put so much work into their makeup, costumes, props, and wigs that they understandably want photographic evidence of it!

If you’re not into cosplay, fear not; I photograph all manner of other subjects as well! I love conceptual portraits, boudoir, product photography, the occasional wedding, and many more. If you’re looking to know a little more about me, I basically run on iced coffee and pure force of will. I have a twelve year old boxer named Fiona (pictured at left with me), I have pink hair (not naturally), and I have a constantly growing collection of tattoos. I like to make and wear cosplay (sometimes while I’m photographing cosplay), and I sometimes like to be photographed myself by one of my many talented friends.
